The Kookaburra preschool classroom accommodates children aged 3-6 years of age. At this age, the children practice fine tuning their fine and gross motor skills. They use a structured routine and follow a pull-out curriculum that has ready built lessons to support the children's interests while incorporating age appropriate educational concepts. Throughout the day, the children work on various kindergarten prep activities to ensure they are ready to enter the school system. They work hard mastering the alphabets, letter and number recognition, math and science, socializing, and independence. Dramatic play areas are set up to help the children with language development and build peer relationships. The classroom is set up to enhance their abilities, promote independence, and develop confidence. The preschoolers participate in large and small group activities, art, music and outdoor play. Children at this age want to climb and roam. Inside there are steeper stairs, a climbing wall, and a rope within the classroom. Outside there is a large play area and the children help with a garden in the warmer months
